The Coronation Anthem, rich in choral colour perfectly in sympathy with dynamic orchestration, is our glorious musical memento of the Coronation Celebrations of HM King Charles III.  Written by British composer Leo King, it marries the immortal words of William Shakespeare with serene choral harmonies in a stunning and exciting orchestral setting.

Leo King is an unusually widely gifted British composer who has been producing musical works for private commission for many years.  Tuneful, richly tonal, harmonious, always appealing and exciting, his smooth and deeply-textured compositions address and appeal to a wide range of musical tastes from pop/rock, country/folk to serious light classical, orchestral and choral works.  With The Coronation Anthem King has produced a uniquely memorable piece marking the joyous celebration of a very special national occasion.

Cantamus, the highly-regarded London-based chamber choir and orchestra, founded by its Director Dr Peter Macdonald in 1959, has built a reputation over the years for its interpretations of many well-loved works, such as Bach’s Christmas Oratorio , Handel’s Messiah, and Haydn's Nelson Mass and Creation.  This website serves also as a memorial to the remarkable Dr Peter Macdonald, now sadly deceased.  He was one of the leading Bach and Baroque Music scholars of his generation, internationally renowned, widely published, and respected and loved by a wide community of professional musicians and instrumentalists for his outstanding interpretation, sensitivity and skill as an orchestral conductor and director.
